Meet Theodore, a Vietnam Era veteran and former Sergeant in the Army, who has faced numerous challenges since returning home from his service. After suffering a stroke and spending months in a coma, Theodore returned home only to face yet another obstacle. Navigating through physical therapy at the Department of Veteran Affairs, he fell, compounding the difficulties.

The Daily Struggle:

Now, Theodore, with the help of his dedicated family, faces the daily struggle of navigating an inaccessible bathroom. The bathroom is fraught with barriers, hindering his ability to bathe and posing a significant risk of further injury.

Community Effort:

  • Thanks to the generosity of Best Bath and All American Surfaces, a custom shower is being installed, providing Theodore with much-needed comfort.
  • Peter McQuaid, from McQ Sales, not only provided financial support but also connected us to these incredible wholesalers.
  • During the 10-day installation, Theodore and his wife will be accommodated in a nearby hotel, thanks to Adopt a Soldier Platoon.
  • With a grant from Blue Foundry Bank, the labor costs are covered, leaving only a small portion to be funded.

Additional support is needed to cover the remaining costs ($5,000). Navigate to Theodore’s fundraising page today to contribute and make a difference in Theodore's life: https://homesforveterans.networkforgood.com/projects/219844-accessible-bathroom-sgt-theo

Together, let's give back to those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

Your support ensures that Sergeant Theodore can live comfortably and safely in his own home!
