11.26.2025 —Partnered with Blackstone Charitable to provide 1,500 Thanksgiving Meal Kits to VA Hospitals in NYC in Memory of Wesley LePatner
This Thanksgiving season, Homes for Veterans was incredibly honored to help distribute 1,500 Thanksgiving meal boxes to veterans throughout New York City thanks to the unbelievable generosity of Blackstone, Blackstone Charitable, and Break A Difference, along with the hard work of their amazing volunteers.
This initiative was completed in loving memory of Wesley LePatner, whose kindness and giving spirit continues to live on through every veteran and family impacted by this effort.
Together, we delivered:
-
1,000 Thanksgiving meal boxes to the Bronx VA Hospital
-
500 Thanksgiving meal boxes to the VA Hospital on 23rd Street in Manhattan
Each pre-packed box was thoughtfully filled with non-perishable Thanksgiving essentials to help veterans and their families create a warm holiday meal, including vegetables, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, cornbread mix, brownie mix, fruit items, gravy, cranberry sauce, and a $20 gift card so veterans could purchase the meat or main dish of their choice.
Food insecurity remains a very real challenge within the veteran community, and this initiative was about more than just providing meals. It was about ensuring veterans feel remembered, cared for, and supported during the holiday season.
Seeing so many organizations, volunteers, and community members come together for our nation’s heroes was truly incredible and a reminder of the impact that can happen when compassion turns into action.
We cannot thank Blackstone, Blackstone Charitable, and Break A Difference enough for their generosity, partnership, and commitment to serving those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
