We can’t stop smiling—and honestly, we’ve shed a few happy tears—after witnessing Floyd and Audrey’s emotional reaction to their brand-new, fully accessible bathroom. ❤️🇺🇸

Floyd is a proud veteran. He served our country with strength and dignity, and today, alongside his devoted wife Audrey, he’s facing new challenges at home. Like so many veterans, Floyd found that the very place meant to offer comfort and safety—his home—had become difficult to navigate. Everyday tasks that many of us take for granted, like taking a shower or using the restroom, had turned into painful obstacles.

That changed—because of YOU.

Thanks to your support and our incredible partnership with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland, Floyd and Audrey now have a safe, barrier-free bathroom designed specifically for their needs. No more fear of falling. No more anxiety about mobility. Just peace of mind. Comfort. Dignity. And the ability to live each day with more independence.

“I don’t know what we would’ve done without this,” Floyd shared, his voice full of gratitude. “Now, I feel like this house really works for us again. It’s a blessing.”

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

At Homes for Veterans, we believe every hero deserves a home that empowers—not limits—them. And none of this is possible without the generosity of people like you. Whether you’ve donated, volunteered, or simply shared our mission, you are the reason Floyd and Audrey have a new beginning today.

♥️ We also want to extend our deepest thanks to Geria from Habitat for Humanity and Louis their project manager, and everyone who made this project possible.
