12.2.2025 — Holiday Event partnering with BSE Global and ICL

Homes for Veterans was incredibly proud to partner with the Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, and ICL to help bring holiday cheer, support, and essential items to veterans from the Borden Avenue Veteran Shelter in Long Island City.

Together, we packed and distributed thousands of essential items to veterans in need, including scarves, socks, toiletries, $15 Target Gift Cards  and other winter necessities. Veterans were also provided with lunch and received beautifully hand-knitted blankets generously made by residents from the Northvale Nursing Home, adding such a personal and heartfelt touch to the day.

A HUGE thank you to Rhea Lieber, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help make this event happen. From securing donations to coordinating details, her dedication ensured our veterans felt truly cared for and supported during the holiday season.

We also want to thank our incredible partners at ICL, especially Rosita Marinez and Calvin Robinson, for always showing up with so much heart and for their continued commitment to supporting veterans experiencing homelessness and hardship.

The holidays can be an especially difficult time for many veterans, which makes days like this so meaningful.
