Andrea proudly served in the United States Army and later the Army National Guard. A single mother from a military family, service has always been a part of her story.Today, Andrea lives with significant service-connected injuries that impact her mobility and make everyday tasks difficult. One of the biggest challenges was her bathroom. Stepping into a traditional tub, bending, and navigating the confined space caused pain and made something as simple as taking a shower difficult and unsafe.
Homes for Veterans stepped in to change that.
Andrea’s bathroom project is now complete. Her old tub was removed and the space was transformed into a barrier-free, accessible bathroom designed around her needs, giving her ansafer and more comfortable space to use every single day.
For Andrea, this was never just about renovating a bathroom. It was about giving her back a piece of her independence, safety, and dignity in her own home.
This is why we do what we do. Our veterans sacrificed so much for us, and when they come home, they deserve a home that works for them.
Andrea served our country. This project was our way of serving her.
